Love Poem : Bhargavi Sinha

Peeking through the crevice within

Oh! Look at that white beam glistening in the radiant sun
Would it reply to this tattered reflection?
A tone so numb, I ask it, ‘Come near, would you?
Light my skin and colour my voice
Envelop me in your gaze and
Help me rejoice.’
Of what was once glistening with pride
Was lead ashtray with wrath and toil
And confinement and broil
Her grip let loose
To the flare, unfaltering
The aura dimmed
Lids fell and
Crust dampened.
Yet, glistening it remained
Desperate for attention
Seeking out possibilities
Fighting to be discovered.
You remind yourself
‘You’re not strong enough’
For this overbearing
The beam waved
‘But I thought triumph was your intention
And I thought you were yearning.’
I remind myself
To look deep within
It lies there still, manifest in its bearing
With intentions profound
And manifestations abound
…if only I were truly craving.

  1. Hello Bhargavi!
The time suspension and the monologue having one's reflection, wonderful!
    Jaun Eliya writes--

    Jesus Loves You!
