Other Poem 1- Sukh Mehak Kaur

PHOENIX

Blue on my eyes and a few dots of glitters,
the after glow of three days of spine jitters.

Hold and behold, the phoenix rises again !
just in time before the deadline ends

and again, and again, and again…
and then again and again…

Believe me, I want it to end.
This loop of resurrections
that I’m stuck in.

End; is loosely used here,
For I do end;
every time…
just to be born again!

just in time before the deadline ends…

and again and again and again…
 and then again and again…

The blue fades and washes away.
The glitter, never really stays in place.

I spend a few days in bed
painting the blue tears
that I couldn’t shed.
And then..

I put blue on my eyes and a few dots of glitters
the after glow of three days of spine jitters.

The phoenix in me
grows more and more afraid
of taking flight
Every . Next . Time.

“ leave it, i’ll just wait, for the burning to begin”

The fire wasn’t even high and majestic this time!
It lightened no path, and no one grew warm at its sight.

metaphors are dried up
for such a repeating rut.

L.O.L and behold, the phoenix rises again !
just in time before the deadline ends.

and again and again and again
andagainandagainanadagainandgani…

THE END.
