The rhythms of silence

(inspired from 'Story of a silence' by Agha Shahid Ali)

                               Silence

envelops those whose laughter

becomes numb

                              by the

passing of dawn. Where

their voices

                    are lowered

to create directions and

services for

           their counterparts

with experiences galore,

change to

                             spare,

time to take and leisure to hold. But,

when made

                             aware and

brought in unison, you’ll hear

laughter

                      cutting through

those who try every day to take

them away.
